I’m the ugly duckling who becomes a swan

ugly duckling becomes a swan

What I’m sharing today, I wrote in one breath on the 21st of October during my morning pages. I didn’t expect it to be so inspired. Words were flowing out. My throat was tight, my cheeks were warm, I could feel it in my whole body. My soul was all lighted up.

I was looking for my life purpose. I was looking for a more meaningful life and then I received this wonderful text. I was maybe channeling something higher than me. This text is about me but it is about each of us too. About our dreams, about what we want to bring to the world…
This text carries such a tremendous energy that every time I read it, it touches my heart and I cry.

I haven’t shared my story yet. It’s my first confession about who I am, where I’m from, who I became and who I want to be. I wasn’t born a life coach. No, it has always been easy in my life. I wasn’t much supported. I haven’t always had a supporting and loving family. But I overcame my struggles. I’ve grown and learned a lot. As of today, I want to help and inspire others.

It is not easy for me to write and put words on my emotions. Often times, words are stuck and won’t express. I dare express it today.
I didn’t change the text. It came from my mind and my heart.

What is my life purpose ?

I’m the ugly duckling who becomes a swan
The one who is among all the conversations
The one whom everybody thinks is wasting her life
The one who brings light
The one who is different
The one who dares and opens doors
The one who loves people who criticize her
The one who forgives and shows the path Continue Reading

What are your core values?

Core values are what is important to you, what you stand for and what gives you purpose in life.
Your values are unique to you. They are true to who you really are. You are already living by them and they are encoded in your life. Your core values and your life purpose are like your north on your internal compass. They guide you in the right direction.
Values are not moral, what you would like to have and not what you aspire.

Core values come from:
– Your upbringing,
– Your parents,
– Your social and cultural environment,
– Your family history,
– Your life experiences,
– Everything that reflects who you are.

Why it is important to be aware of your core values?

Your core values give a direction and guidance in your life. They help you make better choices, prioritize your projects and focus on what is important to you.

Once you will be aware of your values, you will be one step ahead to find your life purpose. You will understand yourself much better and why you make certain decisions in your life.

Living by your core values and being aligned with them bring you a sense of rightness and purpose. You feel energized, fulfilled and fully alive. You are at your best when you fully live your core values

My transformational journey in life coaching

Last Saturday was my last session with my life coach, Celestine Chua. We did a wrap up and looked back at all the sessions. Here’s a brief sum up of my wins. I plan to develop each part in dedicated posts 🙂
I had my first session on the 12th of October 2014 and my last one the 7th of February 2015.

Before life coaching

My request was to change my career, find my life purpose and my passions. When I arrived at the first session, I was lost and very frustrated with my job. I was so clueless about how to find my passions and my perfect job. I was so scared to move on and change my job because I was afraid to lose the safe place that took so much effort to build.
Back then, when I finally had the courage to subscribe for life coaching, I chose her 8 session coaching program called “Holistic Transformational Coaching”. I was afraid that it would not be enough and I would need more sessions. It was hard to believe that my life could be transformed in only 8 sessions. Against my belief and all expectations, my life indeed changed and it was deeply transformational.

How did I wake up from sleepwalking

decision to change my life

Sleepwalkers

What do I mean by sleepwalking ? I don’t actually sleepwalk at night. :-p
It’s a reference to that excellent post from Personal Excellence. When I read, it stroke me. I encourage you to read it. Really !

The sleepwalkers are people who are not actively pursuing their dreams and their life purpose, who don’t have a clarity about the direction to give to their life.
How to spot if you are sleepwalker :

Me, sleepwalking

For a long time, I was complaining about my work, about the fact that I had no exciting activities on weekends, about my unfulfilling friendships. But I did nothing to improve it. At work, I was executing the same meaningless task on a daily basis. I couldn’t imagine myself 5 or 10 years from now in the same career. After work, I was either stuck in my couch watching TV/drama or either going out drinking/partying or surfing on the web for long hours till 2 AM every night. Despite the fact that my job was boring and non-motivating I was working a lot to achieve the goals that were set for me. In the end of 2012, my team went through some very stressing and intense months. My manager was very satisfied with my job and I even had a bonus for my great achievements.
